Connector Conference

Make N Take Breakout Session: Your Story as the Bridge to Your Inner Self

When we are unable to process our traumas, big or small, these experiences get stuck in our bodies, affecting our health.

In this experience we will learn about getting quiet to listen to the stories that exist in our bodies. We will learn about techniques such as restorative yoga to deeply connect to the stories within us. We will also discuss how a writing practice helps us process our stories and connect inward.

Part of the experience will include a writing workshop where we write on a prompt and share our writing within small groups. The experience of hearing our stories aloud helps us to become a more integrated version of ourselves.

(FREE) Salon: Your Motherhood Narrative

Join Kristy Rodriguez of Pure Nurture and Rachel Nusbaum of Orchid Story for a story-sharing evening, with the intention of creating connection surrounding the journey of motherhood. Free of advice-giving and how-to’s, we invite moms to contribute lessons of self-discovery and to celebrate our varied experiences. We’ll provide prompts and share ideas of how you might document your unique story.

Salon Series events are FREE, but you must reserve your space by registering. Donations are accepted to defray the cost of space rental.

Each Salon event is a potluck dinner, and participants are invited to contribute to the spread. If you are not able to bring something, please come as you are! There is always plenty of food… Drinks are provided.

The (S)Hero’s Journey

“Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.” This quote by Joseph Campbell, whose work brought us The Hero’s Journey metaphor, tells us that our darkest moments often happen directly before transformation occurs. In this workshop you will:

-Explore the Call to Adventure that we each face: What are you here to do with this one life you’ve been given?
-Learn how to apply the three acts of the Hero’s Journey metaphor to your own experience.
-Write in a Hero’s Journey workbook and take it home with you.

Come with an idea of your “Call,” and leave with a tool that will enable you to intentionally examine life’s challenges. The workshop will be led by Rachel Nusbaum of Orchid Story, whose mission is to help individuals find empowerment and meaning through their stor
